Robin discusses how important it is to tell yourself the truth if you want to recover from an eating disorder. She describes her own suffering, as she unconsciously repressed the truth and cognitive dissonance because it felt too scary and painful to face. Going into denial is a way to NOT change when the truth seems catastrophic to your self concept. This client has struggled to surrender her emotional desires to be thinner and she convinced herself she was ready to do the hCG protocol again. Despite the fact that Robin had discouraged her from doing it again, she convinced herself she was all healed and did it anyways. Unfortunately, she relapsed as she attached to the weight loss, became afraid to regain weight, and her eating disorder resurfaced. RECORDED NOVEMBER 2017
